Glenn-ShowgrenGlenn Showgren graduated from Brigham Young University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Development and Psychology.  Glenn began his sixteen-year career with Henry Schein at Dentrix, spending twelve years in Technology Sales Management and the last two and one half years as Regional Manager at the Henry Schein San Antonio Center before becoming The Western Zone Manager.  Glenn’s drive for success helped him earn the 1996 Rookie of the Year Dentrix Tech Support Award, Technology Sales Manager of the Year from 2004 to 2009 and in 2011, the Social Responsibility Award for the Southwest Zone.

Although working hard comes naturally to Glenn, he admits allowing himself to relax isn’t so easy: “I wish I was better at relaxing.  The fact that I can never sit at the beach on a sunny day and enjoy the warm sand drives my wife Allison crazy.  I have a deep admiration for my wife because she puts up with me!  She says the reason I love funny movies like Monty Python and the Holy Gail is because I’m so tightly wound.  When I do find time to sit down and watch a movie, I like being able to laugh and not think too much.”

Glenn also loves to laugh and play games with his thirteen-year old identical twin sons, Eric and Elijah, nine-year old daughter Annika and six-year old son Caleb.  Glenn proudly states, “Although it’s a work in progress, my children are my greatest accomplishment.  I value my faith in God and trust in His plans for my children.”  When Glenn was a child, he enjoyed spending quality time with his parents.  “During the fall I would go to Brigham Young University football games with my father.  Growing up he taught me the importance of having a strong work ethic and that a job is not necessarily 9 am to 5 pm, the job lasts until it’s completed and you’re proud of it.  On the other hand my mother taught me to remain calm through every adversity.  No matter how many balls she had in the air, she was always in control. “

Glenn remains in control of his career by being an effective communicator, “I was very involved in my high school debate team qualifying for the National Finals and my debate coach had a significant influence on me, pointing out verbal crutches, which to this day I still avoid.  Today I have added to my professional tool box the concepts and strategies I’ve learned from Kerry Straine.  I rely on Straine Consulting as my Practice Management Coach; I’m grateful that Kerry and his team of certified consultants have taught me how to deliver the right messages to my customers at the right time, equipping them to be more in control of their dental practices and careers.”
