Published on January 18, 2015

Dutch Bros CoffeeSACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) —Thousands of people came out Wednesday to a number of Dutch Bros. Coffee locations throughout the Sacramento region to help raise funds for the families of two sheriff’s deputies killed in the line of duty.

A line of customers stretched into the parking lot as people waited for a cup of coffee at the Dutch Bros. on Auburn Boulevard — the same place where many officers often come to get their morning cup of joe.

Nine Dutch Bros. Coffee shops are participating in the fundraising event and are donating proceeds from each cup of coffee toward the two families.

The shop owners said the company felt moved to do what they could after Friday’s tragic loss, and the California Highway Patrol added that the community support is definitely welcome.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Oliver left behind his wife and two daughters, and Placer County Sheriff’s Detective Michael Davis Jr. is survived by a wife and four children.
