The HOPE Award — Natasha Newsome, Treatment Coordinator, Tylan Creek Family Dentistry

“Helping Others Perform Effectively”Natasha Newsome

Natasha graduated from Greenville, South Carolina Technical College with a Certificate in Dental Assisting in 2002 and in 2005 joined Dr. Darryl Halbert’s team as a Chairside Assistant, where she served the practice for four years until becoming the Treatment Coordinator in 2009.  “I truly enjoy all aspects of my profession yet what I value most are the relationships I build with our patients.  From the moment I answer the phone through scheduling treatment I make sure our patients know I’m always available to help.  I believe it’s important for our patients to know they are cared about.”

As a teenager Natasha was insecure about her teeth therefore she relates to patients who want to improve their smile, “Having a healthy smile does a lot for your self-esteem.  It’s my job to educate our patients and reassure them I’m available to answer questions when they are ready to move forward with treatment. I want them to look at me as more than the Treatment Coordinator, also as their friend.”

Natasha says Straine Consulting enables and equips her to perform her job to her best of her ability, “With the training, tools and policies Straine has provided our practice we have no surprises and it helps all of us to be aware of the numbers.  I’m committed to giving my all to the practice just like our Straine Consultant Dan Stover is committed to helping us perform at our highest level.” Dan applauds Natasha for her strong work ethic, “Natasha has the most positive attitude and it shows in her dedication to the practice and its patients.  The patients love her as she does a fantastic job explaining treatments and helping them select the right payment option. Natasha is great at what she does and is a true leader in the practice!”
